A growing trend in fashion is the plus sized wardrobe which has become a hit amongst women of all ages and size ranges. Most women are no longer in the size 2-10 range and are curvier and more buxom. For this reason, most stylists have a few words of advice when purchasing clothing in the plus sized range.

Keep the same rules in the plus range as you would in the smaller sizes. Choose classic pieces or suits which will always be in fashion no matter what the year or season. Purchase one pant or skirt suit in a plain color which fits you properly and serves you well for any important occasion.

Purchase a few blouses or shirts which will complement the suit and bring out the color of your eyes, hair and facial tones. These blouses can be worn with the suit, another pair of trousers or skirt. Try to buy fabrics which will wash and dry quickly for the next business meeting or party. Cotton, silk and linen make suitable tops material while wool is an excellent suit material.

Purchase clothing which fits you properly. There is nothing worse than gorgeous plus sized women wearing too tight shirts, pants or jeans. Buy a size larger and the clothes should be easy to do up and not make you look like a sausage in its casing. Wear good quality foundation garments to enhance your proportions. Bras should uplift your bosom and make a blouse look very good on you.

Avoid showing off too much skin as in halter tops or sleeveless tops. Leave something to the imagination and always dress as though you were going to meet someone special that day. Good fitting lounge clothes, bathing suits and tee shirts should enhance your body, not draw a critical eye.

Finally, complement your wardrobe with a hair style, classic make up and good fitting shoes. Accessories should be worn with to complement your face and eyes and not be overwhelming. Avoid too much jewellery or scarves, which take the focus from your beautiful face. Now you are ready to go forth and seize the world.

Choose shoes which are suitable for all day at work. Spiked heels are not required at work and should be saved for evening fare. If you want to dress up for evening then go for it but remember that it is your face and hair that everyone should be looking at, not your skimpy dress or top.

Once you solved the clothes problem, focus on your shoes. Shoes must complete your outfit; try to combine your shoes so that they match your outfits.

Sandals with socks – Stay away from this fashion no-no at all costs. It is an all together fashion mess. No women will find you attractive. You’ll begin to notice that your friends call you less and less and strangers won’t even want to stand near you with this foot fashion faux paus. If your love for sandals is this strong then move somewhere warm that you can wear sandals year round. Novelty Ties, shirts, or boxers – This is another fashion mess that men just don’t seem to notice or maybe not care. Why would you sacrifice your dignity for the sake of making someone laugh from a “funny t-shirt”? It isn’t worth it, in my opinion. I would much rather be known for being stylish and a good dresser than the guy who wears shirts with funny sayings on them. So with that, throw out all those clothes with smiley faces, hearts, reindeer, shamrocks, and animal prints and buy something nice. Shiny shirts and suits – Come on…for real? Unless you are going to be a backup dancer in a musical then there should be no reason why you should even own a shiny shirt or suit much less wear one out in public. I can think of about a hundred different fashion choices you could go to the club in than a glittery, shiny and REALLY tacky shirt. What’s wrong with a simple form fitting black t-shirt or black dress shirt? Pair it up with some nice jeans or trousers and you’ll have no problem being noticed in a good way. Ugly colors – You can look like Brad Pitt with the fashion sense of a George Clooney but if you’re wearing some ugly colored clothes no one will care who you look like. That great looking new suit you bought for you Christmas party this year may have been expensive but if it makes you look like one of the staff or something from the 70′s, then I’m sorry but you paid too much. The color of your clothes needs to compliment your best natural features like eye color, skin tone and body shape. Overly loose fitting clothes – Clothes that are really loose or baggy make you look sloppy and like a bum. Unless you rap or own your own hip hop label, which you probably don’t, then you need to stay away from this fashion mistake. Instead buy clothes that actually fit you. You’ve been working out so why not buy some clothes that show it off. Try experimenting mixing and matching certain cuts and styles until you comes across the perfect fit and look.

IT Holding is parent company to Malo and Gianfranco Ferre. But currently, it is negotiating for a partnership deal together with an investor (Chinese) in order to help their finances.

Also, Chanel has just announced their plan to remove 200 jobs in their Paris office. This decision has come in the middle of recent concerns for this luxury label, followed by the announcement to cancel their planned events for “Mobile Art,” Chanel’s touring museum. Although Karl Lagerfield, Chanel’s label designer has said that this move was just an artistic choice.

Salvatore Ferragamo

Some fashion labels in Italy are holding emergency talks together with the Italian government and appealed to support their industry or at least lessen the effects of their financial slowdown.

But still, many big labels have to launch lines that are more affordable in order to entice costumers to bring out their wallets. In fact, Michele Norsa from Salvatore Ferragamo said that they can no longer sit and wait for their customers to enter the shop on their own.

Another recent shocking announcement was made by Betsey Johnson and Vera Wang – they said that they won’t be showing their collections for fall 2009 due in February because of the down turn in the economy. This move might be followed by other labels, since shows will cost them thousands of dollars if they pushed it on.

The industry experts are commenting that there might be a likelihood of smaller or more reserved shows following the trend set by many designers. Also, it appeared that the designs were also affected by the crisis because many shows showed only quiet colors and minimalist lines.

However, it is not all gloom and doom – now there are a lot of bargains that you can find (this includes as much as 40% off in Prada’s Milan stores). Since companies are luring customers back to their shops, many of them might find that 2009 is the year where the spending power of consumers return.

Many companies might focus on classic pieces that have longer shelf life. Moreover, there are predictions that 2009 trends will indicate that you can wear again some of the pieces from the past seasons. And by the time this crisis is over, it’s very likely that major players will again produce extravagant creations.
